I loved reading this novel so much! I can't put this book down and I can't stop reading. It's the first book I've read written by Lurlene McDaniel. I was surprised how realistic she described the character of a person suffering from a life-threatening and incurable disease like cystic fibrosis (CF). Lurlene McDaniel wrote novels in the first line for teenagers. I'm an adult and I'm also fascinated by this stuff, too!About the story itself: Kara was a sixteen-year old girl diagnosed with CF when she was a child. For so many times she had to stay in the hospital for "tune-ups" and for special treatments helping her to clear up the phlegm in her lungs clogging the airways. Many years Kara's life still goes on the same way (sometimes better - sometimes worse) but once she arrived at the point her illness get more and more worse. Kara and her family always had known that things were headed like this. Increasing the dose of medicine and antibiotics and hooked on an oxygene tube wouldn't help Kara for a longer time... But read this novel - you will be amazed! I guaranteed! It's a heart-warming and lovely book about love, life and death.Lurlene McDaniel wrote some other novels about characters suffering from serious illnesses like cancer, leukemia and bone marrow transplant, kidney failure, virus infections like HIV and something else. I will read them all next time. Lurlene McDaniel is a great author!I'm sorry for my English written this review (my English isn't excellent). I'm a reader from Germany and my english lessons went long time ago.;-)
